Astonishing production with incredible performance, deeply humane and so funny! Attending a Jewish wedding is now officially on my bucket list!

This production is in Yiddish with English and Russian subtitles, it took me some time to catch up and get used to, but it was so worth it!!!

History repeats itself. This classic musical is certainly resonating under current political climate.

A Fun Fact from the lovely lady sitting next to me: The amazing lead actor Steve is a friend she met in a Quilting class. He got very good at quilting backstage while he was playing Doctor Dillamond in Wicked since the character only appears at the begging and end of show XD

沙皇俄国的小村庄里穷困潦倒的无产阶级犹太人在犹太教义下有条不紊地生活着，男主外女主内，清贫之中不乏家人的嬉笑关怀，连邻里间的家长里短都显得狡黠可爱人味儿十足。直到种族仇视愈演愈烈，沙皇对犹太人下了驱逐令。但当自由的爱情开始一次次挑战传统和没落的父权，变革已然不可阻挡。

不愧是百老汇经典！词曲写得太好了，大弗里吉亚调式的犹太音乐恢弘中带着俏皮，欢乐中带着忧伤，和故事相辅相成。演员的表演无比惊艳，充满张力，悲中带喜，时而诙谐时而动情，人数众多的卡司唱起歌跳起舞来气势十足！俄罗斯舞加犹太舞，让我看完想去参加一场犹太婚礼！

这一次的新production由全犹太语演绎，配英文和俄文字幕，开始有些不习惯，但很快就习惯了边看表演边看字幕的设定。坐在我旁边的阿姨受男主的邀请而来，她看了好几版的Fiddler，每一版都不同，今天更是惊喜连连。她告诉我主演Steve是个絎缝（quilting，做被子）高手，他们就是在絎缝课上认识的，他以前在Wicked演山羊教授只有开场和结尾的戏份，于是其余时间就在休息室缝被子（好可爱XD）

命运在动荡的时局中漂浮不定，唯独人情像悠扬的小提琴声始终奏响在摇摇欲坠的屋顶上，不论是亲情、爱情还是故乡情。

在如今美国的难民和移民政治局势下看这部剧，大概会格外有感触吧。
